I've been to visit the USS Arizona memorial twice in my life now, and each time I was struck by the solemnity and reverence that comes over those in the boat taking us out to the memorial as you get closer to it.......back on land at the gift shop, etc. there is lots of talking and noise.......but as you near the memorial and as you step onto it, the enormity of the loss that long ago day humbles and quiets you.68 years later......whether we are there in Hawaii or far away, the nation still remembers......
